✔Better say: Seven people remain, and they have been lying down for 20 days. // There are seven people left, and they have been lying down for 20 days.

✖You said: They have to lying down. During the lying down, they can read cellphone, laptop, whatever.
✔Better say: The contestants must lie down, but they are allowed to use cell phones, laptops, and other devices during the competition. // While lying down, they can use their cellphones, laptops, and anything that can keep them entertained.

✖You said: If I in lying down for that long time, I will start to get stressed.
