🔍 VOCABULARY WORDS

📌deny (verb) - to say that something is not true; to not admit that you have knowledge, responsibility, feelings, etc.

Example: Neil denies that he broke the window, but I'm sure he did.

📌approach (verb) - to come near or nearer to something or someone in space, time, quality, or amount

Example: If you look out of the window on the left, you'll see that we're now approaching the Eiffel Tower.

✖You said: I tried to think in a good way.
✔Better say: I tried to think positively / I tried to look on the bright side / I tried to be optimistic (about it).

✖You said: Some young people came too close to me (...) I wanted to send them. After sending them away, I had come to know that my smartphone was gone.
✔Better say: Some young people approached me (...) I wanted to send them away. After sending them away, I realized/noticed that my smartphone was gone.

✖You said: It was been 3 days after buying it.
✔Better say: It had only been 3 days since I bought it.

✖You said: They don‘t say the truth. They say they didn’t know about my phone.
✔Better say: They denied stealing my phone and pretended they didn’t know anything about it.
